‘King Kirk’ makes it Aussie title #4

Ballard’s Wellard Yamaha racer ‘King Kirk’ Hutton beat a strong field to wrap up his fourth Australian Enduro Title at the weekend.

Hutton, 35, from Kobble Creek (in Pine River’s Shire, Brisbane) was the fastest 250cc Four-Stroke rider in the 2009 Hog’s Breath Cafe Australian 4-Day Enduro (A4DE) held at Orange, NSW.

Hutton was also the 6th quickest rider Overall from the 315 entrants.

“Multi-day, enduro events, like the Australian Four-Day and the International Six Days Enduro are what I’m passionate about and love to race,” Huttons said.

“I was really happy with how I went at the four-day, I had a really good run with only a couple of small mistakes.

“I feel like I’m riding the best I’ve ever ridden, especially on the WR250F, as this is my first full year on the four-strokes.

“I had stiff competition from a couple of young fella’s, but I was very pleased with how I handled the pressure and was consistently fast and brought it home for the win.

“The special tests were tough as they got really rough and really dusty, with deep bull dust that was like mud.

“It took a lot of concentration and focus just to keep the bike on two wheels, but I managed to do that and I’m really really happy to have won another Aussie title.

“It was also good to match the times as some of the guys on the 450cc’s - that was a real bonus and confidence-inspiring for me.”
